Rose Gold Fan

I decided that I wanted a screen for the fireplace so I started looking around online and saw that they had a pretty option around a $100. I was considering buying it when I remembered that I had this plastic fan that I bought from the thrift store for just a few dollars. 
I had been planning on painting it with a rose gold spray paint and putting on a wall somewhere. It occurred to me that I could work very well as a decorative fireplace screen I am not going to be using my fireplace for a real fire so it doesn't matter that this item is plastic. I think it works very well and helps to cover what I consider an unsightly fireplace, especially when I want to use this area for taking pictures in front of.

Dining Room Before and After

Here are my latest before and after photos.  The area is the dining room, which is right off the living room.  In place of the new chandelier from Home Depot , there used to be a ceiling fan.  I'm not a "fan" of ceiling fans, so that was one of the first things to go.  The very first thing to go was all of the old carpet that covered the floors in almost all of the rooms. Bedroom Before and After

This post has been such a long time coming!  Today, I am finally posting the before and after of the bedroom renovation of our home. The first photos I am sharing are of the room when we first purchased the home.  We ended up not changing much at all in this room except for the dirty, old carpet.  We removed all of that, and also the particle board that had started to decay and fall apart.  It was a lot of back-breaking work, and we ended up taking many weeks to complete just the removal.   I think this wood paneling was probably put in place back in the 1970's.  I am not a huge fan of the dark wood, but I just could not bring myself to paint over something that still looked brand new, as far as wear, after more than 40 years.  Perhaps some day I will end up painting it, but we still have far too much to work on in the rest of the house to bother at this time.    Here it is!  The next picture (belo...

 It's been forever since I last posted, so I decided to start again in what is my favorite season for decorating.  Fall! In this tablescape, I have a plaid tablecloth I recently purchased from Dollar General.  I love the addition of the blue in the fall colors of the plaid.  It is somewhat unexpected.  ' The bright orange, glass pumpkin was a HomeGoods find last month.  The wooden board it is on is from Ross.  All of these items were around only $10 each! The stack of plates were thrifted.  I loved the neutral look of them, and I think they worked well for these setting, even though they have snow flakes on them.
